As we all know from the Houston heat that has set in, summer has arrived! Just in time for our hottest season, we have some adorable totes perfect for carrying all your summer essentials. Here are some of my beach bag must-haves for summer 2K19! Whether you’re walking around the city, having a beach day, or playing sports, sun protection and skin hydration are key. To combat UV rays that cause a whole hoard of terrible things, I use Beach Bum Spray for easy, all-over application and Elta MD Clear Broad Spectrum for my face. Remember, it’s important that even on cloudy days to wear sun screen and lotion.
I’ve found that the most stylish way to protect yourself from the sun is to throw on a gorgeous hat from Freya! From classic fedoras to wide brimmed sun hats, looking cool and staying cool is fun and easy! Speaking of fashion, finding a cute and flattering swimsuit is always an annual headache, but I came across a Columbian swimwear brand, Maaji, that is now my go-to for swimwear! They also carry beautiful beach gear, including summer dresses that are perfect for brunches, date nights, and looking fresh for just running around town. Shopping online is the perfect way to eliminate the hassle of crowded stores and limited parking…as well as the terrible lighting, that we all dread, in the fitting rooms.
Summer is known to be the season for colorful cocktails on ice but I think the definition of summer is relaxation, not mixing drinks with multiple ingredients. So that’s why a simple glass of chilled Domaine Cherrier Sancerre is what I choose to pour pool side, with a wine chiller nearby to keep it nice and cold. So, grab a fun floaty and bottle of white wine and enjoy a fabulous summer with quality time with your friends and families, as well as plenty of R&R!
